Konica Minolta and Screen Graphic Solutions (Screen GA) have strengthened their collaboration in the commercial digital printing area. The companies plan to promote hybrid workflows and increase user-friendliness in offset printing and digital printing. Plans also include further enhancement of efficiency, extending business opportunities, and delivering new value in the commercial printing industry. The seamless hybrid workflows will be achieved by improving data exchange between Screen GA's Equios and the Accurio portfolio of Konica Minolta. The companies have improved data exchange in the Job Definition Format between the Equios universal workflow systems and the Accurio inkjet and toner digital presses. The improved data : exchange allows users to directly carry out digital printing from the Equios, achieving seamless operation that features colour management and finishing. The solution increases commercial printing efficiency in a production; environment and provides new business opportunities by taking full advantage of ondemand printing. Screen GA business development division head and corporate officer Toru Kawada said the company has continuously improved the Equios universal workflow systems that combine CTP workflow systems with cutting-edge inkjet printing technologies.
Venus Optics recently announced the launch of Laowa 15mm f/2 FE Zero-D for Sony Full Frame E-mount cameras. Currently the widest f/2 rectilinear lens in the market, it is an ultra-wide & ultra-fast prime lens which covers both 35mm full-frame & APS-C sensors. Weighing around 500g (~1.1 pounds), the lens is 8 cm long and comprises of 12 elements in 9 groups with 2 pcs of aspherical elements and 3 pcs of Extralow dispersion elements. It provides an extreme 110° angle of view and ultrafast f/2 aperture. The lens provides a super close focussing distance of 15cm and is specially designed to remove the optical distortion commonly exist in wide angle lenses at infinity focus. ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C38 recently launched the 712 kg Cartosat-2 Series Satellite along with 30 copassenger satellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota. This event marked thirty ninth consecutively successful mission of PSLV. One of the 30 co-passenger satellites carried by PSLV-C38 was CE-SAT 1, a fifty-kilogram (110 lb) microsatellite built by Canon Electronics, Japan. Canon will use the spacecraft to demonstrate a high-resolution imaging system in orbit, with a ground resolution of up to one meter (3 feet). About 60% of components of the satellite are manufactured by Canon, and the company targets a 100% inhouse production in the near future. The company also plans to sell the satellites, related components and the image data collected by the CE-SAT 1. The small-size satellites are expected to be sold for 1 million yen (approximately).
