ASUS has established itself as one of the leading smartphone brands with the launch of ZenFone AR in the Indian markets. First showcased at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017, ZenFone AR is the world's first Tango-enabled and Daydream-ready smartphone, with 8GB RAM. The new ZenFone features the ASUS TriCam system, a three-camera system consisting of a 23MP main camera, motion-tracking camera, and depth-sensing camera. The 8MP front camera of the phone features f/2.0 aperture. It runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) with ASUS ZenUI 3.0. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 CPU, specially optimized for Tango and Daydream. The ZenFone AR has a 5.7-inch WQHD Super AMOLED display and 128GB internal memory. ZenFone AR comes with ASUS SonicMaster 3.0 technology, a five-magnet speaker driven by a powerful NXP smart amplifier. It comes with a premium Asus ZenEar S Headset. ZenFone AR is designed to provide high-quality AR and VR experiences. It also features the desktop-class Qualcomm Adreno 530 graphicsprocessing unit (GPU) to deliver supercharged graphics performance. The ZenFone AR is backed by a 3,300mAh battery pack. ASUS ZenFone AR priced at INR 49,999 will be available exclusively on Flipkart.
Seiko Epson Co. said it will market 12 new projector models for business and home use. The company has readied seven models for business use and five for home use. For the business use, all the models feature brightness range of 3,200lm to 3600lm, keeping high visibility even in a bright room, and resolution from SVGA to WUXGA. All the models are compact and lightweight – less than 3kg. The top of the line, model EB-U42 features full HD resolution (WUXGA 1920 x 1200) and brightness of 3600lm, carrying a suggested price tag of 132,000 yen. The most affordable model EB-S05 features 3200lm and SVGA (800 x 600) resolution, with suggested price of 44,980 yen. The company targets to sell 150,000 units a year. Epson has readied five models as home projectors in two high-quality lines with 2 models and one basic model. The high-quality lines come with the projector itself as a set, with a projector and screen. All the models feature brightness of up to 2500lm enabling viewing in a bright room. The basic model EB-W05 features WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution and 3300lm, selling under expected price of 64,980 yen. The high-quality models, the EH-TW5650 is equipped with a 1080p panel equivalent to full HD resolution, brightness of 2500lm and contrast ratio of 60,000:1. When using a media streaming device, it can be wirelessly connected with AV equipment. It will be available at an expected price of 129,980 yen (without a screen) and 135,980 yen (with a screen). The EH-TW650/TW650S features full HD resolution, brightness 3100lm and contrast of 15,000:1. Expected selling prices are 99,980 yen and 105,980 yen, respectively.
Sony launches its new camera, the a9 in the Indian market. The a9 features a 24.2 MP Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ X processor and front end LSI. The new camera offers high-speed, blackoutfree continuous shooting at up to 20fps, 60 AF/AE tracking calculations per second and a maximum shutter speed of up to 1/32,000 second. It features 35mm full-frame stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor which enables data speed processing at up to 20x faster than previous Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras. The sensitivity ranges from ISO 100-51200, expandable to ISO 50-204800. It is equipped with a 5-axis in-body image stabilization system with a 5.0 step shutter speed advantage. The a9 offers an Ethernet port (wired LAN terminal), that allows the user to conveniently transfer files to a specified FTP server at high speeds. It is powered by Sony battery (model NP-FZ100) with 2.2x the capacity of previous Sony full-frame models and support of 4K (3840x2160p) video recording. Additionally, the camera can record Full HD at 120fps at up to 100Mbps, which allows footage to be reviewed and eventually edited into 4x or 5x slow motion video files in Full HD resolution with AF tracking. Dimensions of the new a9 are 126.9 x 95.6 x 63.0mm and it weighs about 586g (body only) The a9 is available at all Sony centres and retails outlets for INR 329,990 (body only).
