Konica Minolta and Screen Graphic Solutions (Screen GA) have strengthened their collaboration in the commercial digital printing area. The companies plan to promote hybrid workflows and increase user-friendliness in offset printing and digital printing. Plans also include further enhancement of efficiency, extending business opportunities, and delivering new value in the commercial printing industry. The seamless hybrid workflows will be achieved by improving data exchange between Screen GA's Equios and the Accurio portfolio of Konica Minolta. The companies have improved data exchange in the Job Definition Format between the Equios universal workflow systems and the Accurio inkjet and toner digital presses. The improved data : exchange allows users to directly carry out digital printing from the Equios, achieving seamless operation that features colour management and finishing. The solution increases commercial printing efficiency in a production; environment and provides new business opportunities by taking full advantage of ondemand printing. Screen GA business development division head and corporate officer Toru Kawada said the company has continuously improved the Equios universal workflow systems that combine CTP workflow systems with cutting-edge inkjet printing technologies.
Ricoh India Ltd., announced the launch of its new digital SLR camera-PENTAX KP. The D-SLR features an APS-C sized CMOS image sensor, supported by approximately 24.32 megapixels and sensitivity ranging up to ISO 819200. It is equipped with a 5-axis shake-reduction system, an electronically controlled shutter unit for super-high-speed shooting at 1/24000 second and an optical viewfinder with nearly 100% field of view. The Pentax KP is dustproof, weather-resistant and can endure temperatures as low as -10°C. It can also capture high-resolution Full HD movie clips in the H-264 recording format. It is equipped with a 3.0-inch LCD monitor with a vertical tilt function, a Real-time Scene Analysis System and a High-speed 27-point autofocus system with the SAFOX 11 module. The PENTAX KP provides a range of customisation features, such as a grip replacement system to personalise the camera's grip to accommodate the photographer's shooting style or a mounted lens. Japanese MNC SHARP, recently launched a new smartphone AQUOS S2, which is currently available in the Chinese markets. It features a 5.5-inch, 100% bezel less display. SHARP AQUOS S2 with three bezels is currently the largest full screen smartphone. The company announced that it will continuously explore the field of 100% bezel less screen phone. SHARP aims at achieving technology breakthroughs in screen and anti-dropping technologies. The dimensions of AQUOS S2 are: 141.8 x 72 x 7.9 mm and it weighs 140 g (approximately). The smartphone is backed by a 3020mAh battery. It offers two variants - 4GB and 6GB RAM, providing internal memory of 64GB and 128GB respectively. The new AQUOS S2 is available in White, Black, Blue and Green colour variants. Sharing his thoughts at the launch, CEO of SHARP/InFocus Mobile- Dr. Luo Zhongsheng said, “The core of full screen design is to break through the technology limit, achieve the double sense of holding and visual comfort, and provide the ultimate experience for users.”
